What Skin type are you?
Having clear and healthy skin is something that we all strive for, but do you really know what skin type you have? Understanding your skin type is the first step to taking care of it properly. So, what are the different types of skin? Keep reading to find out!
There are many different skin types out there, and each one has its own set of needs. In order to figure out what skin type you are, it's important to know the different characteristics of each type.
There are six main skin types: dry, oily, combination, sensitive, acne-prone, and mature. Figuring out which one you are is key to getting the right skincare products and treatments.
Dry Skin
Dry skin is characterized by a lack of oil production. This can make your skin feel tight and uncomfortable after cleansing. Dry skin often feels rough and may be more prone to wrinkles.
Oily Skin
Oily skin is the opposite of dry skin; Oily skin is caused by an overproduction of sebum, which is the natural oil that our skin produces. While oily skin can be frustrating, it's important to remember that it's just a variation in skin type and not a flaw.
There are a few things you can do to take care of your oily skin. First, make sure you're cleansing your face twice a day with a gentle cleanser such as Bodyceuticals Facial Cleanser
Combination
Combination skin is the most common type of skin. People with combination skin have areas of both dryness and oiliness on their face. The T-zone ( forehead, nose, and chin) is usually the oiliest area, while the cheeks are typically drier.
Sensitive Skin
This type of skin needs to be treated with extra care, as it can easily become irritated or dry.
If you have sensitive skin, it's important to avoid harsh chemicals, heavy fragranced products. Instead, try to stick to natural ingredients. Also, make sure to moisturize regularly and avoid excessive sun exposure. You’ll find majority of Bodyceuticals’ products are fragrance free.
With a little bit of extra care, your sensitive skin will stay healthy and happy!
Acne Prone Skin
People with this skin type often have to be careful about what they put on their skin because it can cause them to break out. Acne-prone skin is also more sensitive than other skin types, so it's important to use gentle products that won't irritate it similar to the sensitive skin type.
Mature Skin
As you get older, your skin type changes. Your skin becomes less oily and more dry. This is because the sebaceous glands, which produce oil, slowly start to shrink. The skin also starts to thin and lose elasticity. Caring for mature skin includes make sure to drink plenty of water. This will help keep your skin hydrated from the inside out. Second, use a gentle cleanser that won't strip your skin of its natural oils. Third, use a moisturizer that contains SPF 30 or higher and finally, avoid harsh chemicals and UV radiation as much as possible.
